1.  Lunch and Port Briefing on Penang Port's Ferry (10:30 AM - 12.30 PM): Explore the second largest port in Malaysia with an introduction to Penang Port services. ​This event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy lunch while cruising past the terminals, learning about the port’s operations, and taking in the scenic views of the Penang Bridge. ​​Lunch on board sponsored by Penang Port.

Coffee break at Infinity8 Reserve Georgetown (12:30PAM - 1:00 PM)

A short walk from the terminal leads us to the latest gem in Penang's vibrant co-working scene, where we'll enjoy a relaxing after-lunch coffee and get introduction to their facilities and services. From there, we'll continue our stroll along Beach Street, Penang's historic banking hub, on our way to the afternoon venue.

Afternoon venue: Think City, Level 1, UAB Building, Gat Lebuh China (walking distance from Swettenham pier)

1. Think City presentation (1:15-1:45) Mr. Stuart Macdonald, Technical Director of Strategy & Analytics at Think City, will present on local economic development and urban studies, drawing from over 20 years of experience in the field.

2. InvestPenang (1:45 PM - 2:30 PM): Opportunity to learn about Penang Investment Landscape from InvestPenang Dato' Loo Lee Lian, Chief Executive Officer of InvestPenang.

3. Meeting with YDB Mayor Dato Ir. Rajendran (2:30 PM - 3:00 PM) to discuss about what Penang Island has to offer for expats

4. Penang Startup Scence and E&E ecosystem (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM): Gain insights into Penang’s dynamic startup ecosystem and business opportunities derived from semicon and E&E boom in state with Curry Khoo, a key figure in the local entrepreneurial community and J. Philip Vincent, well connected industry player in the E&E sector

5. Penang Institute (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM): Meet YB Dato Kee Beng Ooi, Executive Director of Penang Institute, who will introduce the think tank and discuss Penang’s future from their perspective.

   • Limited Group: Meeting with TYT Governor (4:00 PM - 5:30 PM): For selected corporate heads of member companies approved by the Governor’s office

Take a break to freshen up at your hotel and change for the evening. While the best costume will be rewarded by MGS, don’t worry—most will show up in shorts and t-shirts, embracing the island's laid-back lifestyle!

Evening Venue: Malaysian-German Society, 250 B, Jalan Air Itam, 10460 George Town

1. Malaysia’s Best Oktoberfest by the Malaysian-German Society (7:30 PM - 11:00 PM): Conclude the day by celebrating at Malaysia’s most authentic Oktoberfest, organised by the Malaysian-German Society. Enjoy traditional German food, music, and drinks in a lively atmosphere.

   • Paid event: RM50 (RM30for the ticket and RM20 for seat reservation). Booking is now closed, but we can try to accommodate last nimute requets if possible)

   • ​Members can invite (book & pay) guests and business associates to the Nordic Table 

   • ​We will gather at 7.30 at the VIP/group entrance of MGS clubhouse (check Excursion Whatsapp group for further instruction)

   • You need to come there with your own transportation (recommend using Grab as parking is very limited)
